Philosophy and Goal

Our philosophy is that preschool should give each child a chance to be a child and to gain self-esteem, confidence, independence and self-disciplines at his/her own individual pace.

Our goal is to provide an educationally stimulating, nurturing and save environment where children will become aware of the world around them through playing, learning and growing ... spiritually, socially, emotionally, cognitvely and physically.

Group Size & Staff

Our preschool is licensed to serve a maximum of 20 children per class with a staff to child ratio fo 1:10.  We require children be supervised at all times.  Our staff meets or exceeds all State of Minnesota standards required for a preschool.  Head teachers:

*  are licensed by the Minnesota Department of Education

*  have special emphasis in pre-kindergarten, nursery, or kindergarten endorsement

*  have additional college credits in early childhood-related subjects

*  have extensive early childhood-related experience

Eligibility

The preschool will accept children from three years of age by September 1 to children who have not reached six years of age by September 1.  The Preschool Director and State Licensor must approve any exception to these age criteria.  The preschool does not have diaper-changing facilities; therefore, all students must be toilet trained before starting school.

The school is not equipped or staffed to serve the educationally or developmentally exceptional child.  However, some provisions or modifications are feasible for children wtih 'special needs'.  Check with the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. St. Luke’s Christian Preschool admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.  It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, and other school-administered programs.

Days/Hours of Operation

The school year runs from September - May.  We offer two or three day per week sessions in both the morning and afternoon:

Monday/Tuesday/Thursday AM

9:15 - 11:45 am   4/5 year olds

Monday/Tuesday/Thursday PM

12:30 - 3:00pm   3/4/5 year olds

Wednesday/Friday AM

9:15 - 11:45am   3/4 year olds

Fees & Tuition

A non-refundable registration fee of $55.00 is charged.  Tuition for the 2010-2011 school year is as follows:

$110.00 per month - two day class

$140.00 per month - three day class

Registration Process

We invite you to set up an appointment to visit our preschool.  If you would like to send in a Registration Form, you will find one available on this website.  St. Luke's Preschool's current families, past families, and St. Luke's Church members have priority until January 15th.  After January 15th all registrations occur in the order the forms are received by our Director. 

Anyone can turn in a Registration Form prior to January 15th.  If you are new to St. Luke's, your Registration Form will be dated and accepted in that order.  We will inform you on January 16th as to whether you are officially enrolled.  We welcome any questions and would love to tell you more about our preschool program!
